Anti-Cancer Recipes: Ricky’s Perfect Raw Veggie Juice

anti cancer juicing recipe

Ever notice how all the veggie juice recipes have you throwing in something sweet?  Apples? Beets? Loads of carrots? Well, toss that taste for sweet out of your lifestyle. On the contrary, we’re trying to ignore our addiction to sugars and carbs til it vanishes. Kaput.

So how, then, do you make green juice tasty?
Montreal’s Ricky Steinberg Tajfel, inspired by her studies at the Hippocrates Health Institute, now develops her own raw veggie creations. Sprouts are the key to her–and to Hippocrates’ elixirs. Here’s Ricky’s version of the perfect juice:

Ingredients (all organic):
1/2 fennel bulb
3 kale leaves
1/2 English cucumber
3 celery stalks
1 bunch sunflower sprouts
1 bunch pea sprouts
Options: 2 cloves garlic, slice of ginger and/or pinch of cayenne
Makes 4 cups. It’s best to drink soon after juicing so you might want to cut the recipe in half –and if you’re truly committed, make another half batch later in the day.

Ricky downs all 4 cups daily. No wonder her skin is perfectly glowing.

    • I’ll be blogging soon about the different juicers. Meanwhile, yes, eat the fibre. As you suggest, it will help you stay regular, and you know what that means. Your colon gets a good cleaning.

  1. I have not yet invested in a juicer but I have a Vitamix that I use to make smoothies every day. Donyou think that the outcome would be the same or must these ingredients be juiced?

    • I use a Vitamix, too, and love the fact that you get the fiber as well as the juice. There’s a bit of a controversy about masticating blenders like the Vitamix (which chew the fiber) versus juicers, and I’ll get into that in a future post. Both have their benefits.

  2. OK I’m gonna give it a try – update on my results later today. I am committed to adding veg to my diet – we have a Whole Follds here so I can get all the goodies…. I’d like to add turmeric to it – as it is a key, “they” hope, in fitting Altzheimer’s. I also love ginger so ya know that will be in.

    • Forget turmeric in a juice. For turmeric, you need to add black pepper and heat it a bit in some olive oil to maximize bioavailability. I make a 1/2turmeric-1/2 ground cumin combo, then add salt and black pepper and use that in foods. Tastes quite good.

  3. I’ve been browsing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any fascinating article like yours. It is pretty price sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made just right content material as you probably did, the web will likely be a lot more useful than ever before.
